Twenty-three Swan Hills High School students broadened their future options by attending the Career and Education Expo at the Jean Millar Centre in Whitecourt on September 22nd. Showcasing regional business and educational opportunities, the Expo featured fifty-two exhibitors. Thirteen of these exhibits had demonstrations and/or virtual simulators. A full twenty-eight post-secondary institutions were in attendance.
Our students explored career and educational options with potential employers, industry experts, and educational advisors, along with students from seven other regional schools. Teacher and career advisor, Kim Hooey commented, “It was the most comprehensive fair I have attended. Almost every student returned with career information for exploration. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the day. The simulators were especially enjoyed”.
