Students Raise $870 for Cancer Research

Swan Hills School couldn’t have asked for a nicer autumn day for the Terry Fox run on Thursday. At 10:45, Community Peace Officer and Swan Hills Fire Department Captain Clint Baker climbed to the roof to take a photo of the participating students. Then each class, depending on grade, ran or walked from one to four kilometres, with at least one intrepid student running five. Local R.C.M.P. officers patrolled the streets with the students during their run to ensure their safety.

Organized by Crystal Erickson, P.A.W.S. Wellness Mentor, the run raised $870 for cancer research, as follows: Grade 1 – $270, Grade 2 – $111, Grade 3 – $70, Grade 4 $240, Grade 5-6 – $35, and $144 was donated from the chili lunch special. Thank you parents, for helping us help others!
